Alla Padalka, Head Teacher
Alla earned her Masters in linguistics and language teaching from Minsk State Linguistic University. Before joining the United Nations, she taught Russian as a foreign language at various universities and international organizations both in Russia and abroad. Shealso worked as a translator/interpreter from English into Russian.
Alla joined the UN Russian Language Programme in 1990 as a part-time instructor. In 1992, having successfully passed the competetive examination, she became a head teacher.
Alla coordinates the team of several part-time Russian teachers and collaborates with other five official language programmes on various pedagogical and administrative projects. Beside monitoring the Russian Programme, she develops and updates teaching materials for the Programme, conducts regular and special classes. She introduced several special courses aimed at developing partcipants’ skills in specific areas.
Alla is also involved in other activities of the Language and Communications Programme, such as Orientation Session for New Staff.
Members of the Russian Teachers team are highly qualified, experienced and devoted professionals. All of them are native Russian speakers with Master's Degrees in linguistics and language teaching and with extensive teaching experience.Their professionalism, enthusiasm and dedication contribute a lot to their successful work in the UN multilingual and multicultural environment.
