Meetings and Publishing Division

The Meetings and Publishing Division (MPD) provides required supporting services to intergovernmental meetings such as interpretation into/from the six official languages of the United Nations (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish) and the distribution of documents. The Division also supports meetings and conferences held away from Headquarters.

The Division is responsible for the preparation of the verbatim records of the proceedings of the plenary of the General Assembly, the Security Council and other organs entitled to them; the proofreading and final preparation of all official documents, publications and other printed material, as well as their printing and dissemination at Headquarters and globally; and for the posting of the electronic version of official documents in the six official languages on the Official Documents System (ODS) of the United Nations.

The Division is also responsible for the development and application of standards for the typographic formatting of all United Nations documents in all official languages of the Organization, and provides guidance to the Secretariat of the United Nations on best practices in electronic publishing
The Meetings and Publishing Division comprises of the Interpretation Service, the Verbatim Reporting Service, the Publishing Section, the Copy Preparation and Proofreading Section, and the Text Processing Section, including the Correspondence Unit.
